There are always those few games out there that you really, really want, but can’t quite afford right now. My list is probably way too long to properly recount. For that reason I will think of the top 3, the ones perhaps closest to my waiting grasp, the ones that could even (or not) materialize this very weekend or the days to follow.

Red Dead Redemption is an obvious choice and is probably holding the top spot on my list right now. I really can’t wait to jump into John Marston’s boots and wreak some good old fashioned cowboy havok. Let it be known, I am a sucker for westerns, I am also a total sucker for open world games, that’s two strikes? I’m sold! The game looks amazing, there is no doubt about that. Rockstar Games definitely know what they are doing and more so, they know what gamers want. (That much was apparent after seeing GTA4.) The game has been reviewed by a few sites and magazines, the lowest it has managed to score was around 95% and the highest, well, a perfect 100. The game is set to release in a couple of days in the EU, aswell as here in South Africa. The chances are really good that I will be picking this up on the day of release, thereby greatly crippling my chances of getting the next great title on my wishlist.

God of War, wow, where to start with a game like this? Firstly, I have yet to play God of War 1 and 2, now, before you crucify me for that heinous crime against gamers and gaming in general, let me explain myself. I never managed to have access to a PlayStation for long enough to be able to enjoy, or even really play any of these games. I would have liked to, that much is sure. Now I sit here, waiting, brooding. Should I play the third in this most epic installment without playing the first two? Tough choice. I was waiting for the Ultimate Box for God of War 3, I just never saw it materialize. It would be great if I could get all three these titles in one swoop, thereby forcing me to play them all, saving me the choice. As for God of War 3, the latest in the series, I have heard only good things. Oh so many good things. The game also, predictably, scored really high in it’s reviews. It is a slightly different type of game compared to Red Dead Redemption, a more straight forward, almost platformer-ish action adventure game, for those of you that didn’t know. I might not be able to stay away from this one for long.

The logo should say it all. I told myself I would not really need to play this, but even just thinking about the amount of revamping Blizzard is doing to the game makes me want to get in there and try it out. The reason this game is on my list right now is because Blizzard have warned us that the beta is steadily approaching. So if you read this Blizzard, which I doubt you will, I would love a beta key to this soon to be masterpiece! I will test, test, test to my hearts content, no doubt blogging about my adventures once that pesky NDA is lifted. I am not the type to obsessively play a game, not anymore at least. I won’t be playing this game in that all-in no-time-to-waste style that so many often attach to World of Warcraft. Rather, I will take my time, a leisurely stroll, if you will, through the newly deformed and reshaped world. I am keeping a close eye on the development and have already decided that the end of the year is half a year too far off. So please, hear my plea Blizzard, let me in!

That wraps up my wishlist for this week, thank you very much if you managed to read this far without clicking that little x. I will try do this again soon. Excuse any mistakes you may find, I typed this in a hurry!
